Park City

Park City is 32 miles (51 km) southeast of downtown Salt Lake City. It has an elevation of 7,000 and is known as a resort town. With three ski resorts and plenty of other outdoor activities and a healthy Arts culture, Park City always has something to offer.

Park City’s population was 7,558 at the 2010 census. On average, the tourist population greatly exceeds the number of permanent residents.

Park City is a popular tourist location bringing in over $500 million each year to the Utah Economy.

Park City was originally called Parley’s Park City was later changed in the early 1900’s to Park City. It enjoyed tremendous growth during a silver mining boom in the 1860’s. The town declined with the decline of the mining industry

In 1963, miners turned 10,000 acres of their mineral rights land into Park City’s

first ski resort called Treasure Mountain. Park City is now home to three ski resorts: Deer Valley, Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort.

Park City hosted many of the 2002 Winter Olympic Game events and is the main venue for the Sundance Film Festival every year. Park City draws in over 3 million annual visitors.

Park City Main Street Historic District offers shopping and dining for all tastes. And is home to Loosey the Moose!
